Why did you choose UBC Forestry to do graduate studies?

I did my BSc at UBC and I was also in the Life Sciences Co-op program. I spent my last 8 months of co-op in the Forest Products Biotechnology and Bioenergy Group and I enjoyed the work and the people so much that I decided to stay and pursue a Master’s degree. My research project is on bioconversion of agricultural residues to liquid fuel and co-products.

Thoughts on UBC and Vancouver

Grad school is not a walk in the park, but the students and staff make it a fun and friendly environment. I cannot thank the administrative staff enough for taking such good care of us and supporting all our events!

Future Plans

I would like to keep working in the renewable energy/sustainability sector. With an MSc there’s a broad range of opportunities outside and academia.
