2+2 Class on Chinese New Year

UBC Faculty of Forestry has successfully developed 2+2 transfer programs with Nanjing Forestry University (NFU), Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University (FAFU), and Beijing Forestry University (BFU) since 2008. The cooperative programs include Forest Resource Management and Wood Products Processing (WPP) with NFU, Forest Sciences and WPP with BFU, and Natural Resources Conservation with FAFU. All of the programs have been approved by Ministry of Education (MOE) in China. The members in this group have been defined as “2+2/3+2 students”, which refers to a unique structure of the cooperative educational programs. Students in the programs will spend first 2 to 3 years in our Chinese partner universities. By the end of their second or third year, if they successfully pass UBC’s language and requirements, they will be transferred to UBC Faculty of Forestry to finish their matching programs and get bachelor degree at UBC. The first student was enrolled in 2008. Currently, almost 80 students are studying in these cooperative programs to pursue their degree and to develop their personal skills by taking courses and Co-op programs. Summer orientation, reading break volunteering program, and various celebration events have been organized for enhancing the 2+2 students’ international learning experiences.
